Inside Out Burgers
The struggle is real. How to get that hamburger to your mouth without everything falling off into your plate. The lettuce wrap just doesn’t cut it. Cutting it up on the plate doesn’t give you that same hand to mouth experience. How to solve the problem.
Our solution came when we found donut pans here locally. As soon as they were checked out at the cash and in the bag, our minds went into overtime with recipe possibilities. Lots of sweet ideas were rolling around, but the one idea that was strongest was meat do-nuts. Why not create a donut with meat that we could cut in half and dress like a hamburger in the middle. An inside hamburger of sorts. Now, if you overload these guys with keto mustard and mayo and lots of fixin's, they’re bound to be messy, but that’s half the fun, isn’t it?
These can be made without the donut mold, just form the meat into rings and bake in the oven. The bacon adds a bit of extra fat and decadence to these meat donuts. Feel free to make them your own and use your own flavour combinations.
