Blackberry Grill Sauce on Chicken

The first time I made this grill sauce for Sidekick Geoff, he was super dubious. His grill sauce experience had been tomato based up to this point. Even though he absolutely adored blackberries, he just couldn't get his head around the concept of a berry base for grill sauce.

It. Just. Did. Not. Compute.

It only took him one small taste to realize how much he was going to love this sauce. So much so, that after our first meal, we made it a priority to hunt down and source frozen blackberries to make this delicious sauce even more affordable than using fresh berries! We quickly bought a bunch of bags of frozen and are now set for fast action whenever we want to make a batch.

BBQ sauce doesn't have to be tomato based! You will love this on chicken and love it EVEN MORE on pork! Try it tonight!

Drizzle the finishing oil in as you’re pureeing, this will make the sauce glossy and will give your sauce a finished look
Add sauce back to pot and bring back to a simmer over medium heat if needed to reduce to desired thickness.
