Cherry Yogurt Smoothie
Cherry Yogurt Smoothie is a cool and delicious Keto treat that you can have use as a quick breakfast or a sweet snack to get you past a sweet craving.
My love affair with Cherries started a long time ago, when I was less than ten. I was always a good girl, I got straight A’s in school, I sang in the church choir, I listened to Mom and Dad. I was the model daughter. My one foray into the ‘bad girl’ world happened very young and you guess it, it involved cherries.
One of our neighbours had a cherry tree, and after hearing stories about our older siblings escapades about raiding apple trees, myself and my closest girl friends decided to give it a go.
It was a brazen day time robbery. There was five or six of us in total and that included the family dog. Which in my innocence, I tried to a nearby utility pole.
It was only a few seconds into our adventure into thug life, that the house door flew open and the Mister from inside came running out shaking his fist at us. We all took off, with heart’s pounding out of our chests and full of nervous laughter .
It was only after we successfully made our getaway that we realized we had left our beloved dog at the scene of the crime. Well, needless to say, that kind neighbour let our dog go, and she was safely and quickly followed our tracks and made it back in our possession.
Years later, as an adult myself, I can only imagine how much the gentleman laughed at the young gaggle foffemale scallywags and the failed Cherry Puppy caper. So ended our life of crime.
Any berry can be used in this recipe, but to us Cherry Yogurt smoothie flavour is perfect as is. Try it with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries or any other low carb berries.

For the smoothie
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup coconut milk or 35% whipping cream
- 1-2 tsp MCT or coconut oil
- 1/2 cup cherries
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup ice
Blend all ingredients in a blender until it reaches the consistency you desire. Use the pulse setting to get a chunkier texture.
You can add 2 tsps of almond butter for a cherry almond flavour.
Raspberries, strawberries, blueberries or blackberries may be used in place of the cherries and would have a lower carb value.
